I thought that I would take a moment and talk about our families. We’ve never really said much about them except little tidbits here and there.
My Momma (yes, I spell it that way) and Dad both live in Manteo, NC. Momma is happily employed at a flower nursery called Nature’s Harmony. The people there are really good to her. My Dad is retired from the National Park Service and now has several side ventures: a clock shop, air charters and a new restaurant opening up sometime this spring.
My brother Brian, and his wife Melissa, live with their two boys, Parker and Paul, in Antioch, TN. Antioch is near Nashville. My Momma lives with my Granny in Manteo and my other Grandma lives in Chesapeake, VA.
Chris’ parents live in Concord, NC. His Mom is a real estate agent and his Dad, a computer programmer, worked for Wachovia in their mailing/printing division, most recently, but is now helping Shirley with real estate as he has his license as well. Chris has two married sisters, Kerri and Melanie. Melanie and Kit live in Concord, NC and Kerri and Scott live in Kings Mountain, NC. Chris has one Grandma and she lives in Burnsville in rural Anson County, NC.
Both of our families have been our biggest fans as we have made this journey. We have stored all of our belongings with them. Just about every family member has something that belongs to us. Melanie and Kit have our Great Dane, Fisher. Kerri and Scott have our two cats, Ilean and Bunny and one of our buses. My brother has the other. Chris’ parents and his Grandma have almost all our furniture, clothes, etc. My Dad has our personal computer, printer, etc and my Momma has all my gardening supplies.
So, getting back all our stuff is going to be a headache, it appears. It just might take us a while!
Hope you guys are warm in your hotel by now. My thermometers say its 18 degrees in Manteo this morning.
Yesterday the HIGH in Nashville was 29. It was 13 when I woke up.
It’s been in the 70’s and high 40’s here in Vegas. We haven’t had to run the heater the past 2 nights. Very nice weather.
Where’ve yall been? What…. there’s no wi-fi in Vegas? Perhaps ya’ll drove off the Hoover Dam. POST!
The only explanation I can think of Brian, is that their computer is broken. Emails went unanswered two – maybe they’re just having a great time and are getting lazy in that Vegas glitter.
